Traditional Thai Massage

This is a traditional Thai massage that has been passed down since ancient times, and is performed at a slow rhythm, which has a high relaxing effect. By stimulating the energy lines called “sen” that run throughout the body with the fingers, elbows, knees, and soles of the feet, it is possible to revitalize the body and enhance its natural healing powers. It is also expected to increase muscle flexibility and promote blood circulation.

Airak Course

This is our recommended course. It combines traditional Thai massage and oil massage, and activates lymphatic flow with lymphatic drainage to collect and expel unnecessary foreign substances and waste products from the body. When the therapist’s hand techniques restore the lymphatic flow, the life of the cells is restored and vitality is restored.

History of Thai Massage

タイ古式マッサージについて

Over the centuries, Thai village and temple residents have developed a unique interactive treatment known as Nuad Phaen Boran (Traditional Thai Massage) or Nuat Thai (Thai Massage). Based on principles of meditation and healing, Traditional Thai Massage incorporates a variety of techniques including acupressure, stretching, reflexology, herbal medicine, prayer and meditation to relax muscles, increase range of motion in joints and balance the flow of energy throughout the body. This unique treatment was introduced to Thailand over 2,500 years ago by Shivago Komarpaj (Jīvaka Komarabhācca), personal physician and friend of the Buddha. Traditional Thai medicine is based on a combination of influences from India, China and indigenous Thai traditions and has been practiced in various forms throughout Thailand through generations, primarily through oral tradition. Traditional Thai Massage involves a full body massage from head to toe. The difference between Thai traditional massage and general massage using shiatsu is that the practitioner stimulates muscles using various parts of the body such as the palms, elbows, knees, and feet. By stimulating the energy lines (sen) that run through the human body with a relaxed rhythm and loosening stiff muscles, it is said to promote blood flow, balance the autonomic nervous system, and enhance the body’s inherent immunity and natural healing abilities. Another feature of Thai traditional massage is that it loosens the body while stretching. Stretching increases flexibility and changes the body into one that is less prone to fatigue.
